Clinical Vignette

A neonate was born at 32 weeks gestation and was transferred to the NICU. The neonate had an APGAR score of 8 at one minute. The neonate had a white cell count of 10.4 K/cu mm, hemoglobin of 16.4 g/dL, hematocrit of 45.2% and a platelet count of 126 K/cu mm. The mom has a medical history of being O Negative with a positive antibody screen due to Rh immunoglobulin (RhIG). The neonatal type and screen was sent to the lab for testing.

  1. Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do some research on this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I’m very glad to see such excellent info being shared freely out there.
