Clinical Vignette

The patient is an adult female with a history of hemoglobin SC disease, who presented to the emergency department the month following a red blood cell exchange with vaginal bleeding, chest, head, and leg pain.

Lab results:

  • Urine pregnancy test: Positive

  • ABO/Rh type: AB Neg

  • Antibody Screen: Positive
